About
Casa Magnolia

Casa Magnolia is a restaurant with 8 years in operation. Despite its time, the conditions of the establishment were inadequate and permanently provisional. The client wanted to end that, in addition to expanding and remodeling the restaurant.

Despite being vague ideas, the client had the vision of making the most of the land on which the establishment is located, which evolved into a private residential complex with various amenities for tourists and to renew the view of the restaurant.

The
concept

Originally, Casa Magnolia began as the family home, an American-style wooden construction. Due to the growing influx of business, they raised roofs and put up “temporary” tents to meet the demand for space.

Over time, the small house became the icon they were looking for from the beginning, retaining in all its splendor and still in function to this day.

Now, to enter Casa Magnolia is to go through a time tunnel or walk through one of the Disney parks and find the contrast of the contemporary against a classic style of the 50’s.

The
challenge

The most difficult thing was to carry out the construction with the restaurant operating all the time, they did not close for a single day. They arrive early to prepare the kitchen with breakfast and, since the bar opened, it seemed that they never closed.

A constant was indecision, changes of mind or lack of availability of the client’s financing. The project was modified 4 or 5 times already in the construction process, always prioritizing the economic issue over design and quality.

To be located within the city, it has generous spaces for diners, a bar, terrace, gardens, marquees for events and ample parking. Despite the problems, the foundation has been preserved and the concept renewed.
